ππ
IN MARGUERITE'S FIRST six books; she shared with you a wonderful eclectic selection of modern topics; often; political topics. But here; she would turn back.-To a lovely newer form; of some her treasured old biographical works; that would include her Leni books.-For that dear smart schoolgirl; Leni van Meer; who had such a lovely interesting; if not also; sometimes difficult life to share! But an immigrant life was always cool! For the delicious double-vision you would own. Growing up; you could see two worlds!
You could see two languages; two cultures; two histories; two worlds. And you would learn a lot from that! You would learn a lot of beautiful things. Though you would also learn a lot of difficult things perhaps. You would see a lot of difficult things; heartbreaking things; as in America today. You would see things you did not want to see.ππ
THESE BOOKS will feature a beautiful simple original cover foto and design. And some very clean poignant writing inside! Marguerite never grows tired of writing these stories! She will call them novellas perhaps.
For their more simple gentle immediate scope.-A novella is more clean; more pure; than a long messy jumbled winding novel. Where you must tie together the bumblings and anxieties; of several generations; in one long winding; albeit delicious; tome. And she has written and enjoyed those too.
Everything in its own day and time! And in its own irresistible deliciousness. Sometimes too; she will call her books small collections of short stories perhaps.-If their subjects are more loosely related; or their time frames; more loosely linked.-She hopes you enjoy!ππ
BOOK ONE: THE LEAVING
Paperback; 6x9; 83 pages.
Here is a lovely gentle dear small novella.
Of twelve thoughtful chapters; and 83 pages.

WE WERE walking in the foothills with my father; in this old old faded foto; that i rescued for this book.-My two younger brothers and i. And there had been a bit of a spat; and i was feeling very sad. And it was very near to my leaving.-She had a long road ahead of her; that Leni girl; that lonely girl. But how strong girls can be!-Do you know that one too?-Yes! And of course; sadly too. But how strong girls can be. And in the end; bravo!π
Verbatim.
IT WAS the summer she graduated from highschool. Which was a little bit sad for her. As she had been the kind of girl who truly always loved school. From The Leaving by marguerite bloem.π
Commentario.
THIS BOOK is a lovely unintended echo perhaps.-Of Marguerite's earlier book; Fledgling Season. You will notice a similar aspect of the head and body position; between that dear fledgling crow; and that dear schoolgirl; Leni van Meer.-Who had; at that truly vulnerable time; likewise not yet sufficient wings to fly! Though yet; they suddenly seemed required of her!
But a smart smart brain did not always mean; or ever mean; that the wings were there yet! At seventeen.-No. Not at seventeen.-No. Nonetheless; these are delicious quirky cultural stories. Of a newly immigrant family; who does not yet have the means; nor the sufficient American experience; to know how to divine paths and roads for their six smart hardworking children; in a strange foreign land. To be followed by The Labyrinth. Which is a brave searching difficult book; in which we will help that girl through. Well; somebody has too!ππ
BOOK TWO: EVENTIDE
Paperback; 6x9; 83 pages.
Here is another dear gentle small novella;
of ten thoughtful chapters; and 83 pages.

MY HUSBAND and i remodeled; by our own learning hands; our dear gentle old home. (Or rather; we fixed up a fixer; which she will ever remain.) So here; she is with exposed beams and what; which seemed very artful to me. And juxtaposed against that glitter top; that i once bought; for less than five dollars at the Goodwill store.-This foto looked like hope to me. (Albeit; a melancholy one.) This foto looked like dreams to me.
Against the devastation of war.-The Gaza war; the second world war; which was; of course; my parents war. So i grew up with the history of; and a deeper understanding of; the horrible devastation of war. And so; i needed to write this book. The cover seemed haunting; sad; forlorn to me. And so then; just what i needed to say.-Well, of course; and then some. But this is a quiet; deeply thoughtful book. By an old lady who once was that schoolgirl too.π

MISS LENI was a former Dutch girl. If you would like to know. And when she came to America; when she was four years old; she quite inevitably lost a few things! Well for one thing; she lost her last role of Dutch licorice!-That was hard for her. That was really hard for her! As Dutch licorice was an iconic thing! From Eventide by marguerite bloem.π
Commentario.
WELL. She just couldn't watch a world at war anymore. She just couldn't sleep! Watching a world at war. She could find no peace that way! Watching a world at war. Thinking; if the whole world is watching; and given what the whole world knows of war; shouldn't we be able to stop this war?
So she and that dear Leni-girl; finally sat down; to write this dear small gentle tome for you; of what they thought of war. As they did know a thing or two about that! And thank you then; beautiful girl! For thinking so deeply about that for so long. And then; for remembering too!-The long-ago world your family knew. Because if you have seen war; or if your family has seen war; then you cannot really not see war. You cannot really say you didn't see that war. You cannot really not say anything! But she was thinking of this as a book about peace. Because of course; the world needed that.
The world needed peace. And abundant dialogue about peace. And everyone could; should; join and illuminate that dialogue.-With talk of beautiful human things. With ever talk of deeply important human things. Not of the things of men and power and bombs. So we do not forget human things. Or was it too late; was it too late? She dearly hoped not.ππ
BOOK THREE: FIELD NOTES
Paperback; 6x9; 53 pages.
Here was another dear small collection;
of obliquely linked short stories.

Cover Foto.
I TOOK this foto on a journey to the dentist with my boy.-A bus ride; and a bit of a walk from our home; and a bit at the other end too. At the corner where our bus stop was; stood this old metal mailbox. Which completely charmed the pants off me! Because it looked like; though we were not; out on some country lane. (It was really just a busy throughfare.) And so again; with a very poor old cellphone camera; and full of joy and wonder; i snapped.
But some of these old fotos still mean so much to me!-For the dreams and the inspiration they conjured. (It is the process; not the result.) The address is not a real one; but only one that i designed; for this book; in my amazing foto shop! I do not think anyone will mind.π

MISS MARGAUX loved to dabble with languages. She had grown up immigrant; and so; she had been exposed to an abundant appreciation for languages that way. And; to several different languages in her life. And she loved to play with all of that! From Field Notes by marguerite bloem.π
Commentario.
HERE ARE six small stories; and 53 gentle thoughtful pages. That would consider language; culture; connection; humanity.-In a world; and in a sudden political climate; that has sadly put a jinx on all of that. But oh, dear! Thought poor Miss Margaux.-Oh; dear. As she tried to tuck the fear away.
And don't worry; she would tell you why. Because she loved to grouse about things like that! About gentle deeply human things. Because we shouldn't lose that; should we?-No. Because immigrants were not bogeymen! For one. They were; in fact; really cool people! And foreign language was not the language of the devil.-No! Foreign language; of course; was a sort of cool delicious every-varying musical form; art form! But only if you had the ear to listen. And only if you had the human heart; and sufficient human brain; to listen.
Which clearly not everyone did! But just as we treasured and studied; and even; tried to imitate; bird calls; and whale sounds. And how boring we would be! If we did not honor human sounds too. If we did not treasure and study and document; commemorate; the wonder of human sounds too. And that is all she has to say about that.ππ
BOOK FOUR: THE LABYRINTH
Paperback; 6x9; 117 pages.
Here is a lovely gentle dear small novella.
Of thirteen thoughtful chapters; and 117 pages.
ππ
Cover Foto.
THIS IS an old foto of my childhood home in paradise; as i like to say. Before it grew dry to the bone; and at great and devastating risk of flood and fire.-Which so deeply saddens me. (Then; the main trouble was smog. Which was bad enough; which was pretty bad!) But leaving that home; in my book; The Leaving; set me on that labyrinth. It made me strong; yes, sure.
But i'm not sure we should always celebrate that; but more to simply honor the truth.-That it was a very hard road. That it was too hard a road; for such a young girl to walk. And maybe; the world could help a bit with that!-Schools; and social services; legislators; and what. For all young people; everywhere. She would like that.-She would have liked that.π
Verbatim.
AFTER A most stellar quadruplet of years in highschool; our dear heroine; the Golden Seal Bearer; and cello player; Leni van Meer; who you have met in The Leaving... And she surely is that! Well; a Seal Bearer; she means. Has stumbled quite unexpectedly; and quite unfortunately; into some strange sort of dark rabbit hole..." From The Labyrinth by marguerite bloem.π
Commentario.
BUT THERE WAS always an end to a labyrinth; wasn't there? Well; of course; there had to be! So let’s help this young impoverished immigrant schoolgirl; bravely work and study her own proud determined way through. And bravo; dear Leni-girl; bravo you! Because there was a LIFE to be lived once you were through! Though that dear Leni-girl; whatever life hit her with? She would make it through. She would make it through.
This book offers an excellent hard-won closure; to Leni's story that began in The Leaving.-As every young schoolgirl; of course; at some point; would have to do. Though perhaps; leave some room for that. Leave some time; and some room for that! And with the dream of a holiday perhaps! And a better life; a much easier life... Or well; how about; a survivable life for every girl!π
OKAY THEN; that.
Okay then; let's do that!
And thusly; Marguerite
has solved the world.
has solved the world.
