Happy Trails; Song, Song Blue; and The Way of the Goat; Eventide; and Field Notes; my five gentle political offerings; together i think would please you!-Politics; of course; are the sad topic of the day. And these gentle books; are a quiet way to say some things that perhaps; in this day; tht we cannot say! Oh dear; what a mess we are in! But we will make our way. I'm hanging in; are you?! There is also perhaps a poignant gentle echo; between my dear Miss Leni; in my upcoming book; The Leaving. And the sweet fledgling crow; in my small slender book; Fledgling Season. Though my dear Miss Leni perhaps; had quite a more difficult row to hoe. How brave she was! And stay tuned. Because there is also The Labyrinth to follow!
But my dear Leni is strong enough for that. She will be; she will be. Because Dutch immigrant people are strong. Dutch immigrant people are strong! If you say it twice; you cannot be wrong! They are from the land; the sand; the salt of the sea. And there is no maybe about it. They live to be free.🎋marguerite
3. Of My Dear Leni-Girl!-Dos.
Oh! I do have the start of a lovely collection on this! First; with my dear small poignant novella; The Leaving.-That beautifully shares the wonderful quirky nature of her immigrant upbringing. (Which she will always treasure.) And from which she also weaves an earnest; diligent; and deeply insightful thesis on war. (In my beautiful new book; Eventide.)-Aw, girl; that was brave of you!-She will say more. Don't worry; she will say more.-Well. Once you begin to talk; you know? Once you grow out of your schoolgirl shyness. Which sits on you pretty sweetly nonetheless.🎋From this indulgent old one; marguerite. Who loves to watch people gently grow. And shoot then; to even sing!
Spinally Speaking...
Well; besides which to say; that i have a very strong one! But please note; that my important book; The Honor Code; does have spine text; but i have decided not to favor that on my other books. As sometimes my spines are simply too slender. Or other times; it would interfere with the design of my beautiful original fotographs.-Which consideration is mainly of significance to libraries and bookstores.
I am thinking of my work more as niche work; as art books; i think; not mass market work. And though i would welcome any sales there; from bookstores or libraries; i am not offering any wholesale rates on my books. For an independent author; it is simply too much trouble to. But if you are a library or bookstore; you could affix your own small beautiful spine tags; very artfully somewhere! The pleasure is yours; and the honor would be all mine!
Or; you could feature my books face forward on a rack somewhere! Or; you could buy several copies of each of my books; and store them in one of those nice magazine shelf boxes! I think people would love to see my work! In fact; i think every high school library and bookstore; and every community college library and bookstore; and every local library; should have such a box!-To host a beautiful growing collection of my work!-Oh; good then; good!
Or maybe; you would like to feature such a box; for your patients who are waiting for their dental or healthcare! Those can be difficult places to be.
And maybe; someone could label the box; Bloemworks by Marguerite Bloem! Maybe someone could draw a small artful flower! Such a box would bring a great joy and interest and pleasure; i think! A party box; a gift box! A gentle small quiet human read.🎋
I AM ALSO intending my sales simply for the individual; and collectibles; and gift market. My dear small books are holdable; touchable; readable; treasurable; approachable; sharable. And almost good enough to eat! I think it is nice to get a gift sometimes that is not a gadget; for some daily practical purpose; but sheerly for the enrichment and enjoyment of life! Like a pair of delicious colorful woolly socks perhaps. (Well; it can grow cold here!) Though of course; all comers are welcome. And won't you stay tuned then! For ever and always more beautiful works in the hopper.

Some Tech Notes...
I share my literary work on this platform; called Blogger; which anyone can do by having a Gmail; i love that! It is simple; flexible; versatile; and you can go mad with color and design! Though simple is best; in my view.
I design my show mostly for a desktop presentation. Then Blogger will also translate that to a simplified cellphone presentation for phone viewers. But while you are on the cellphone view; you can also still select a button to see the desktop version. (Choices everywhere!) But be aware; that the desktop view they show you on a phone can be a bit jumbled and cattywampus! (It is the background tiling of the image that is thrown off a bit.) But have a look anyway! As there are a lot of fun notes in the gadgets! Which are the small text bits around the main post. Where i like to share some notes on the business of; or the inspiration for my work. And it is a lovely design. But to see my beautiful desktop version as it is; view it on a desktop; of course! (And it is worth that.)

I Sell My Literary Work...
From the independent publishing site; Lulu; which again; everyone can do! That is; anyone who has the chutzpah and vision and talent to.-I am a one-woman team! I do not have an agent; or an editor; or a marketer. Nor a business or financial manager. The Lulu platform facilitates the necessary data-keeping of the selling; and payment processing; and the actual printing and shipping process. And they maintain that beautiful accessible public site; which also allows me that lovely sweeping author profile. Lulu has; in fact; made independent publishing possible! I do all the rest. And again; anyone can do this! I think that independent publishing is the best thing that has happened to the publishing industry! It has created a much greater diversity in the industry; and it has set enterprising creative artists free!🎋marguerite
In the Olden Days...
We used to wait up to a year-and-a-half or two; to receive a reply on short stories we submitted to the lit magazines by snail mail. We used to wait the same amount of time; or more; to submit work to agents and publishers! For a slim slot available at best. And with the creepy feeling that someone has all of your work! And with sometimes the only reward being a one-sentence scribbled handwritten reply. (Though also sometimes; a kind encouraging letter.) But not worth waiting so long for! You do not write for praise; but for success! And in which time you could have sweetly joyfully published your own work. And then sometimes; to see what they publish.
Though i am not a rabid universal naysayer on that. I have been more; in fact; a rabid consumer of some of the greatest literary works in the world. Including many foreign ones; and older ones. But just saying... That often; for the mega-dollars they roll out; it must be highly commercial work. (That even yet; will sometimes go nowhere.) And little of the earnings to the author; but to all the players along the way. But an indie author can do more. An indie author can change the conversation; change the content; change the subject; change the style; change the form. An indie author can gently challenge; and play. And often; make it mean more. Important voices can emerge; simply by the dogged effort and work and determination and talent and creative vision of an excellent artist and author!🎋marguerite

Beautiful Books on Lulu!
One Time...
I was at a writer's workshop... And it is fun to play with those at first; when you are just starting out.-To learn what people are saying and doing. And i was writing some beautiful stories; of growing up immigrant; and with a father who struggled with an occasional bout of mental illness. Though who was; nonetheless; a brilliant man; and great inspiration for me! And we were to share a bit about our stories; so i did. And someone told me, "They don't like to publish problem books anymore."-But what?! Mine was a beautiful story of a life!-Two lives. (And gently peripherally; several more.)
And lives do sometimes have; well; troubles? That is how people grow! That is partly what life is for. That is partly what books are for.-To teach; to illuminate; to inspire; what?! And it hardly matters what the struggle; what the life; if it is interesting; insightful; and well-told. (And to think that i paid for that workshop.) But what; was everyone gonna write a party book?!-No!
Sorry; i didn't think so; kitty-kat; no! I had better things to do; and to write about! And to dedicate my life to. But it is what you want to do; and what means something to you; and that it is well-told. If you have a cool story of what your cat is thinking; that is a good story too. How lovely you came by then! And besides which; in my problem books; so to speak; which they are surely not; they are life-books.-But there are flowers there. There will always be flowers there.
