And Please Note! The pink ink is links; clicketty-click! To take you to my beautiful books on Lulu. Be a Pink-Ink Gink! (I'll bet that is a thing.) But stick around a bit here first; to discover my pretty site; and a gentle introduction to my work.-Hola; GrΓΌssen; Hallo! I don't know who is out there; but i am here! So come whenever you need a book! With ever more coming in the new year.

I like to make beautiful things! And also on a practical note; if you join the Lulu site; you can get notice of their regular customer discounts; for a better deal on my books! See you soon.πŸŽ‹marguerite

Is Christmas Over?
No! Who is having a birthday?! Who is having a child?! Who is in a gentle convalescence; and needs a dear warm gentle book as company. And gentle thoughts and words flowing through their head? A book is the best company in the world!

Who needs a gentle warm greeting for the New Year? And a reminder that humanity and democracy are not dead.-Not if we have our gentle warm intelligent say about that. I have sent a book to my boy. I have asked my boy to read my book to his cats! Oh; come on; why not?! They look very thoughtful; they look very smart!

I'll bet they would love the sound of a gently-reading human voice; more to the point; reading my books! The new year is a time for new things; for better things; for crazy fun things! So here; a gentle wish; for the continuing Joy of the Season to you. And a gentle pause; a gentle silence; as ever; of course; for the sorrows too.πŸŽ‹

AND PLEASE ENJOY my crazy new blog design! Unless you are and have been; a Mean and Ugly Person Who Has Harassed Me; and then; go away! And these admonishments have something to with my story of bullying; in my book; The Honor Code. Which is; of course; not a story. But grownup bullies are simply not my thing! No kind of bullies ever were! That seems like a classless behavior to me.

A strange sort of blind misguided self-centeredness. But i live a pure noble honorable life. And my New Year is for peace; love; the gentle people; and for meMy new year; first and foremost; is for my husband; my family; and for me

And i think; at nearly seventy years old; you can say that! (And i do not know what they were thinking.) Weiss nicht; no sΓ©! But America is not always a gentle country; is she?-No. I am sorry to say that; and to realize that; but no. But i will continue to make the America i want to see; and you should too. It is easier to try to change things as they happen; rather than to wait and fix them in the end.-Speak out!

For social injustice; and bullying. And bravo for those who are speaking out for America and her citizens today. The daily scenes of the ICE raids bring me to tears. There are a lot of heroes these days. But i have a whistle now; and my old eyes can bear a careful witness; as can my cellphone; if they need to.πŸŽ‹

AND DO YOU SEE; that i have played with this site a bit?! As the background; and the colors of this site; grew too bright for me! But the delicious content remains the same.-It is hard! To find a suitable background for a blog; and all the beautiful things you have to share.-That will be just the right size. And that will allow all of your fun sweet small gadgets and sidebars to show. And to create a background that shows what you are doing; and who you are! Well; i am so glad you asked!πŸŽ‹

I AM AN ARTIST; first and foremost!-I am not really a sleek professional girl. That has never been me. I am an artist of every shape and form.-Or sometimes then; a folk artist. That small red mat to the sides; was from an old woolen blanket; that was ever too itchy to use! So i cut it up; and made every kind of fun thing from it!

I do that with stories from my life too. You stitch things together; until you have said; all the sweet smart beautiful tender difficult things you have to say. The dear one in the foto frame to the side; is my own dear boy; now grown to near twice the size!

But surely still as cute as he was before.-I am a mama! I am a homemade writer. I am; quite proudly; in this modern disconnected era; a homemade girl. Everything i do on this site is me; and there is no other. I think you will love my books!

Am i leading the witness?-Good then! And don't let your friends begin a new year; without something sweet; lovely; new. And don't you either! Marguerite; 26 December 2025. Thinking 2026 could be good; or; better?! Oh; lordy. Let's be sure and make it so.πŸŽ‹

AND A NOTE to people who have  been harassed by bullies.-If the harassment has been forever; keep the warning signs up forever! Make this your own year. And reclaim the peace; and the years they stole from you before. Bullying is a sick ugly predatory behavior; and the people who do it are precisely that.-Sick ugly predators. Bullying should have no place; in a modern intelligent egalitarian society.

And may the gentle people reign on earth.-Forever and e-e-ver. Halleluiah; halleluiah! And peace to all in this coming new year; which will continue to be a difficult one. But the good guys are all still here! Working harder than ever.-And we're all still here! Let's keep rewriting this deeply troubling tale we are in.πŸŽ‹

OKAY THEN... Once upon a time; it was 2026; which is a bright new number. Which is a bright new book. Which must be a bright new tale. Its people; its characters; perhaps somewhat weary; but its pages yet unsoiled; unspoiled. Come on, then; let's go! Once upon a time; there was a country that was great; that had been great..

But in foreign language class; when you learn to conjugate verbs; you do not stop at the past tense; or the past perfect tense; which is not always so perfect. You must also learn the future tense! Once upon a time there was a country; that will be great.-Again. And then; even better; you must learn the future perfect tense; because it will take some time to get things right again! And so; once upon a time there was a country that will have been greatBut we have shut down our study of language in this country now; haven't we? We have shut down our study of foreign language in this country now; haven't we? We have shut down our study of pretty much everything in this country now! But how can we make that greatness be; if we cannot even speak of it? If we cannot even write of it? If we cannot even define it?

There is a cool guy called Bad Bunny; and i really love that guy! But Dumb Bunny is a different thing; isn't it? Dumb Bunny will not help us anywhere in the world; and the whole world will surpass us. How can we make that greatness be; if we cannot even define it? How can we make that greatness be; if everyone is dying of the life-threatening diseases that we once cured? How can we ever be great at anything again?! We must be careful who writes the next chapters of this tale!

Vite, vite; allons-y then! Come on; let's go! I wrote this premise; i have written this preface.-See how useful conjugation is? Now let's draft the first page. Can we just start there?-Now let's draft the first page. The sun came out. Goddammit. The sun came out. And she will effing stay out.πŸŽ‹Marguerite; 2026.

Postscript. I woke up before dawn this morning with a bug in my bonnet. I do not know where those bugs come from! But then; you just have to get up and write; don't you? That is the best way to make bugs go away.-And getting out sometimes; with other people who have things to say. Something must change. Respect; for one; must come. Words must change. And humanity must reign. Not bullies.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

The Labyrinth; a beautiful conclusion to Marguerite's tender book; The Leaving; is up! And her book-in-progress; Postludium; will be an illuminating thoughtful conclusion; to her troubling; deeply insightful book on bullying; called The Honor Code. She also has a longing to turn back; to one of the first beautiful books she ever wrote! Which was a biography of her father; and his difficult struggling life; that begins in early Amsterdam prewar.

She plans to serialize that book;
in several small approachable
delicious pieces.

It is a dear tender story. And in a time right now; when America does not seem to welcome; or to celebrate; language, culture, diversity; Marguerite has a longing to celebrate her own beautiful history and heritage again.-She can't wait to begin! Because Marguerite welcomes diversity! She thinks that is what makes a country cooler than cool! And she will always be proud to be a part of that.

And she considers
everyone a brother.

Some Practicum...
Please note that Marguerite is NOT on Amazon; and she hasn't been for many years. So please do not bother to click those internet links.-Thank you.

But after years of trying to get rid of those search results; she cannot. An inquiry to Google explains; that since Amazon is a powerful trading partner with them; they will always prioritize those links; whether they are current or not. Meaning; it seems clear to her; that Amazon is legitimized to steal your business that way. And she is not done with that investigation yet.

But authors beware; in who you tangle with! It is her name; she thinks. It is her business; she thinks. Not theirs.-Has she got that right?! Yes; she does.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

A Gentle Introduction.
Here are several small
shorter beauties for you.

THESE SLENDER volumes feature a beautiful simple original cover foto and design. And a gentle text; that has a delicious rhyme and reason and structure and rhythm and form; that will gently sweep the reader along!

Marguerite likes to call these dear small works novellas perhaps.-For their more gentle simple immediate scope. Or; they can be small collections of more loosely-connected short stories. Or; if they are shorter in pages; or smaller in form; she thinks of them as Story Cards.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK ONE: HAPPY TRAILS!

Paperback; 6 x 9; 67 pages.
Novella; nine small linked short stories.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
AS A GIRL; i lived in the San Gabriel valley; where all of the recent fires were. This was a foto i took; of a long-ago visit back home. Over the years i have truly missed; and come to realize; how absolutely comforting that gentle backdrop of foothills was; to our lovely quiet valley. (I felt the same nostalgia; walking the streets of Hollywood.) And we did have many happy trails there! Though my title for these stories refers more to my lovely city explorations; which have brought the loveliest life-affirming encounters all their own.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
SHE WAS WEARING her warm tawny universal work boots.-That everyone around the world seemed to wear! Though hers; with some vanity then perhaps; would always come with her own unique personal touch. Nice fat chunky laces! Well; red ones; of course...

From Happy Trails;
by marguerite bloem
πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
SHALL WE go walking with Marguerite? She has been walking; both to get places; and also; simply for the sheer pleasure of it all; all of her life! To see things; to see people! And to hear the sounds of a busy city at work and play. Here is a celebration then! Of the beautiful interesting people you can meet; walking the streets of our neighborhoods. And they do not all look like you!

Nor; of course; do they have to. In Marguerite's burg; people not only welcome; but they celebrate diversity. (In our schools and businesses too.) Marguerite has walked the city streets all of her life! And she thinks that is the loveliest way to get somewhere; anywhere. And; to see the whole world too.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK TWO: THE JAZZ MEISTER

Paperback; 6 x 9; 71 pages.
Novella; nine sweet small chapters.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
MY HUSBAND and i were on a gorgeous weekend hike. (This foto was an impulsive selfie i took; not meaning to use it for anything.)-That looked to me like it could be that infamous Gooseberry Cove! (The setting of my book then.) I even thought i saw old Spratt; walking by that tree there. (Which would be on the back side of my book.) A reason for you to buy it then! But, oh, my! Ah, Spratt.-Oh my. That was what you would say about that.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
BUT THEY called those children Spratt's Brats. You have probably heard about that. There was something in the water; people would say! About those strange famous musical children then. Of that strange; perhaps infamous Gooseberry Cove.-From The Jazz Meister; by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
THIS BOOK is written for adults. But with the gentle innocence; joy and simplicity of a children's book! Because sometimes life is that. It is a celebration of an old revered jazz master; who taught her dear boy jazz.-Oh, mama; the saxophone! Come watch those kids! As they try to master those sweet charming rough innocent tones.-Of those sassy sassy brassy horns.

That boy got so good on sax! But make note; it was his mama who taught him how to read music; and how to count those crazy jazzy notes. Because no one else was teaching those kids that!-"I can't do that!" His private music teacher said. But what?! (Begging her pardon then; but what?!) Which seemed strange to both of them! And they dropped him pretty quick after that. But that was really fun for her! That boy was so smart; he learned so fast; she loved that!
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK THREE: THE HONOR CODE

Paperback; 6 x 9; 85 pages.
Novella; eight small chapters.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto
I WAS ON a late-college trip back home; three hours on the city-bus each way. (That was a long boring trip. Sometimes i was the only one riding!) Though studying the vast terrain did interest me; a vast terrain of nothingness. Where were all the people; i wondered; though i saw a lot of cars.-A lot of small low stores; and cars. And that was my dear father; of course. Who had big beautiful dreams; but also; who passed them on to all of us.-Thank you; Opa! Who my boy never met. But we did have an honor code! We had a sterling honor code; we had a gold standard one!-And one that never let me down. My father was a modest soft-spoken man who worried for the whole world.-Rest in peace; Opa; i miss you. And now; especially; would have been an amazing time to talk to you.-Well then; to commiserate with you. And say hi to Oma too!πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
SHE HAD already begun to bully poor Miss Margaux; quite boldly; quite brazenly; from one house over. But then one day; she came to the house right next door to Miss Margaux; and taunted her from the walkway.-"Pretty soon i'm gonna live right next to you!" she said. "Bet you like that don't you; Margaux?" Then she cackled; with great pleasure; like a witch.

"Ah-ha; ha-ha; ha-ha; ha-ha; ha!" But Miss Margaux was home raising a boy! She couldn't bother to trouble herself with that; she filled her world with beautiful things! For the sake of that beautiful boy.

Well; for the sake of both of them. But now; after more than thirty years of that; and bearing the weight of that all on her own; you finally have to have your say.-From The Honor Code by Marguerite Bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
FROM A GENTLE LADY who does not play with bullies.-No. Not ever; no. She surely had the wrong mother. She surely had the wrong girl. Because no one ever bullied Miss Margaux.-Not ever. No one.

This is a quite serious tome; that she did not really want to write. But she is unaccustomed to having bullies; as neighbors. Even; quite strangely; grownup ones! Wealthy established grownup ones. She comes from a more enlightened world. So this; quite necessarily; is a deadly earnest study of societies.

Especially then; of women's worlds; where this can occur with a great prevalence! And; most notably; it is a study of bullying. And it is easy to see through glib brainless soulless people like that. Though sadly; a troubled beat goes on. But people can write about that! People should write about that. People should expose that! People can make it a better world that way! And marguerite; by her thoughtful words; will always try.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK FOUR: FLEDGLING SEASON

Paperback; 5.5 x 8.5; 43 pages
In four dear small chapters.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
IT WAS an early cellphone camera; of no resolution! But there he was; sitting right in front of me; and looking at me! As i stepped out the front door one morning; meaning to look for the mail. He captivated us the rest of the day; and i am sure he will you too.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
SHE RESISTS the temptation to name him; as she is well-inclined to do; with all adorable small fuzzy things. Or feathered things. Or well then; small feathered and fuzzy things.-From Fledgling Season by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
HERE IS a celebration of a dear fleeting friend; who sat on their porch rail one day.-One sweet small fledgling baby crow.-As two mamas; one human; and one crow; faithfully lingered to watch over him. (Well; her boy and her husband were there too!) And so; they each kept a watch.
You do what you have to!πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK FIVE: SONG SONG BLUE

Paperback; 4.25 x 6.875; 29 pages
A small gentle reverie.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
IT WAS a new rose; on a chilly early spring morning; that captivated me; as i waited for my coffee water to boil. I am in love.-With old houses; old wood; old window frames.-And beautiful gently unfurling roses. It was an evocative; nostalgic image for me. Our democracy was in decline; and i was deeply longing for it not to be. I was looking for comfort; home.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
MY BLUE is a rich optimistic vibrant blue; that is warmed with a lovely bit of gold too! Of sunshine perhaps; or marigolds.-I love marigolds; do you? From Song Song Blue by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
WELL. The new administration has put a bug in Marguerite's bonnet! So; some of her subsequent books perhaps; will be to work those bugs out! Here is one of her small gentle story cards. And perhaps; a dear small gift book too.

Of the sad sad political song we are all singing today. From one democratic mama; whose heart will remain true blue.-And; she will sing her beautiful song too! Give this sweet small book to a friend perhaps! Who maybe feels as you do! Singing is always better then.-With five; ten; one hundred; one thousand! Or even then; just two. Do-re-mi; what range are you; what key are you?!

Marguerite is joyfully; top to bottom; ever in the key of true blue. This is an innocent book; in a world that is growing very dark. You have to get away sometimes.-To keep the dream of life alive. You have to get away sometimes. And you have to sing your own song too.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK SIX: THE WAY OF THE GOAT

Paperback; 6x9; 37 pages.
Two small quirky chapters.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
YES; it is me! On a journey through the countryside with my husband; where we stopped for this beautiful barn.-I am in love with barns! When i was growing up in California; i always told everyone i wanted to live in a barn; and now; people are doing that! And now; even as we grow old; i still sometimes long for that. Or at least; to live somewhere in the countryside

If you have read my book; The Honor Code; you will see; that the city has grown mean for me! And i would just like to quietly write; and walk. Or; drive to the country store; and maybe; ride a pony!πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
THERE WAS a stupid new word about that made fun of Miss Margaux and her people. It was a taunting; mocking; deeply offensive word. And Miss Margaux had never heard of that before!-Of a time when a country; or a leader; would simply; plainly; and flat out mock people; insult people! Sadly then; from The Way of the Goat by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
THIS COULD BE another dear small gift book perhaps! For its dear wonderful quirky nature; and wonderful curiosity. Where Miss Margaux will tell her quite necessary tale.-Of politics; and goats! And it seems; quite inevitably; another gentle resistance then; against the troubling rule of the day.

Miss Margaux must throw off!-A common insult flung about; by the ruling politicos of her time; regarding the state of being woke.-But no! She must assert her true identity here. They just got a coupla letters wrong; but Miss Margaux is the GOAT!-Not woke. But maybe; they would get it by the by. She would not wait for that; but hopefully; maybe. You probably are the goat too.

Just a whole lotta really cool goats. Sounds like a pretty good world to her! You are welcome here too. You could even be a chicken if you want. Or a cow; or a pig; or a visiting moose!? Maybe you would like to see the Palouse.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Welcome In!
And discover Marguerite's
next six books.

THE FIRST FOUR of Marguerite's
second six books are these:

The Leaving;
Eventide;
Field Notes;
and The Labyrinth.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

IN MARGUERITE'S FIRST six books; she shared with you a wonderful eclectic selection of modern topics; often; political topics. But here; she would turn back.-To a lovely newer form; of some her treasured old biographical works; that would include her Leni books.-For that dear smart schoolgirl; Leni van Meer; who had such a lovely interesting; if not also; sometimes difficult life to share! But an immigrant life was always cool! For the delicious double-vision you would own. Growing up; you could see two worlds!

You could see two languages; two cultures; two histories; two worlds. And you would learn a lot from that! You would learn a lot of beautiful things. Though you would also learn a lot of difficult things perhaps. You would see a lot of difficult things; heartbreaking things; as in America today. You would see things you did not want to see.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

THESE BOOKS will feature a beautiful simple original cover foto and design. And some very clean poignant writing inside! Marguerite never grows tired of writing these stories! She will call them novellas perhaps.

For their more simple gentle immediate scope.-A novella is more clean; more pure; than a long messy jumbled winding novel. Where you must tie together the bumblings and anxieties; of several generations; in one long winding; albeit delicious; tome. And she has written and enjoyed those too.

Everything in its own day and time! And in its own irresistible deliciousness. Sometimes too; she will call her books small collections of short stories perhaps.-If their subjects are more loosely related; or their time frames; more loosely linked.-She hopes you enjoy!πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK ONE: THE LEAVING

Paperback; 6x9; 83 pages
Here is a lovely gentle dear small novella.
Of twelve thoughtful chapters; and 83 pages.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
WE WERE walking in the foothills with my father; in this old old faded foto; that i rescued for this book.-My two younger brothers and i. And there had been a bit of a spat; and i was feeling very sad. And it was very near to my leaving.-She had a long road ahead of her; that Leni girl; that lonely girl. But how strong girls can be!-Do you know that one too?-Yes! And of course; sadly too. But how strong girls can be. And in the end; bravo!πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
IT WAS the summer she graduated from highschool. Which was a little bit sad for her. As she had been the kind of girl who truly always loved school. From The Leaving by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
THIS BOOK is a lovely unintended echo perhaps.-Of Marguerite's earlier book; Fledgling Season. You will notice a similar aspect of the head and body position; between that dear fledgling crow; and that dear schoolgirl; Leni van Meer.-Who had; at that truly vulnerable time; likewise not yet sufficient wings to fly! Though yet; they suddenly seemed required of her!

But a smart smart brain did not always mean; or ever mean; that the wings were there yet! At seventeen.-No. Not at seventeen.-No. Nonetheless; these are delicious quirky cultural stories. Of a newly immigrant family; who does not yet have the means; nor the sufficient American experience; to know how to divine paths and roads for their six smart hardworking children; in a strange foreign land. To be followed by The LabyrinthWhich is a brave searching difficult book; in which we will help that girl through. Well; somebody has too!πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK TWO: EVENTIDE

Paperback; 6x9; 83 pages
Here is another dear gentle small novella;
of ten thoughtful chapters; and 83 pages.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
MY HUSBAND and i remodeled; by our own learning hands; our dear gentle old home. (Or rather; we fixed up a fixer; which she will ever remain.) So here; she is with exposed beams and what; which seemed very artful to me. And juxtaposed against that glitter top; that i once bought; for less than five dollars at the Goodwill store.-This foto looked like hope to me. (Albeit; a melancholy one.) This foto looked like dreams to me.

Against the devastation of war.-The Gaza war; the second world war; which was; of course; my parents war. So i grew up with the history of; and a deeper understanding of; the horrible devastation of war. And so; i needed to write this book. The cover seemed haunting; sad; forlorn to me. And so then; just what i needed to say.-Well, of course; and then some. But this is a quiet; deeply thoughtful book. By an old lady who once was that schoolgirl too.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
MISS LENI was a former Dutch girl. If you would like to know. And when she came to America; when she was four years old; she quite inevitably lost a few things! Well for one thing; she lost her last role of Dutch licorice!-That was hard for her. That was really hard for her! As Dutch licorice was an iconic thing! From Eventide by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
WELL. She just couldn't watch a world at war anymore. She just couldn't sleep! Watching a world at war. She could find no peace that way! Watching a world at war. Thinking; if the whole world is watching; and given what the whole world knows of war; shouldn't we be able to stop this war?

So she and that dear Leni-girl; finally sat down; to write this dear small gentle tome for you; of what they thought of war. As they did know a thing or two about that! And thank you then; beautiful girl! For thinking so deeply about that for so long. And then; for remembering too!-The long-ago world your family knew. Because if you have seen war; or if your family has seen war; then you cannot really not see war. You cannot really say you didn't see that war. You cannot really not say anything! But she was thinking of this as a book about peaceBecause of course; the world needed that.

The world needed peace. And abundant dialogue about peace. And everyone could; should; join and illuminate that dialogue.-With talk of beautiful human things. With ever talk of deeply important human things. Not of the things of men and power and bombs. So we do not forget human things. Or was it too late; was it too late? She dearly hoped not.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK THREE: FIELD NOTES

Paperback; 6x9; 53 pages
Here was another dear small collection;
of obliquely linked short stories.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
I TOOK this foto on a journey to the dentist with my boy.-A bus ride; and a bit of a walk from our home; and a bit at the other end too. At the corner where our bus stop was; stood this old metal mailbox. Which completely charmed the pants off me! Because it looked like; though we were not; out on some country lane. (It was really just a busy throughfare.) And so again; with a very poor old cellphone camera; and full of joy and wonder; i snapped.

But some of these old fotos still mean so much to me!-For the dreams and the inspiration they conjured. (It is the process; not the result.) The address is not a real one; but only one that i designed; for this book; in my amazing foto shop!  I do not think anyone will mind.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
MISS MARGAUX loved to dabble with languages. She had grown up immigrant; and so; she had been exposed to an abundant appreciation for languages that way. And; to several different languages in her life. And she loved to play with all of that! From Field Notes by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
HERE ARE six small stories; and 53 gentle thoughtful pages. That would consider language; culture; connection; humanity.-In a world; and in a sudden political climate; that has sadly put a jinx on all of that. But oh, dear! Thought poor Miss Margaux.-Oh; dear. As she tried to tuck the fear away.

And don't worry; she would tell you why. Because she loved to grouse about things like that! About gentle deeply human things. Because we shouldn't lose that; should we?-No. Because immigrants were not bogeymen! For one. They were; in fact; really cool people! And foreign language was not the language of the devil.-No! Foreign language; of course; was a sort of cool delicious every-varying musical form; art form! But only if you had the ear to listen. And only if you had the human heart; and sufficient human brain; to listen.

Which clearly not everyone did! But just as we treasured and studied; and even; tried to imitate; bird calls; and whale sounds. And how boring we would be! If we did not honor human sounds too. If we did not treasure and study and document; commemorate; the wonder of human sounds too. And that is all she has to say about that.πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

BOOK FOUR: THE LABYRINTH

Paperback; 6x9; 117 pages
Here is a lovely gentle dear small novella.
Of thirteen thoughtful chapters; and 117 pages.
πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹

Cover Foto.
THIS IS an old foto of my childhood home in paradise; as i like to say. Before it grew dry to the bone; and at great and devastating risk of flood and fire.-Which so deeply saddens me. (Then; the main trouble was smog. Which was bad enough; which was pretty bad!) But leaving that home; in my book; The Leaving; set me on that labyrinth. It made me strong; yes, sure.

But i'm not sure we should always celebrate that; but more to simply honor the truth.-That it was a very hard road. That it was too hard a road; for such a young girl to walk. And maybe; the world could help a bit with that!-Schools; and social services; legislators; and what. For all young people; everywhere. She would like that.-She would have liked that.πŸŽ‹

Verbatim.
AFTER A most stellar quadruplet of years in highschool; our dear heroine; the Golden Seal Bearer; and cello player; Leni van Meer; who you have met in The Leaving... And she surely is that! Well; a Seal Bearer; she means. Has stumbled quite unexpectedly; and quite unfortunately; into some strange sort of dark rabbit hole..." From The Labyrinth by marguerite bloem.πŸŽ‹

Commentario.
BUT THERE WAS always an end to a labyrinth; wasn't there? Well; of course; there had to be! So let’s help this young impoverished immigrant schoolgirl; bravely work and study her own proud determined way through. And bravo; dear Leni-girl; bravo you! Because there was a LIFE to be lived once you were through! Though that dear Leni-girl; whatever life hit her with? She would make it through. She would make it through.

This book offers an excellent hard-won closure; to Leni's story that began in The Leaving.-As every young schoolgirl; of course; at some point; would have to do. Though perhaps; leave some room for that. Leave some time; and some room for that! And with the dream of a holiday perhaps! And a better life; a much easier life... Or well; how about; a survivable life for every girl!πŸŽ‹

OKAY THEN; that
Okay then; let's do that!

And thusly; Marguerite
has solved the world.

2. The Young Ones; Who
Must Struggle and Grow
There is perhaps a gentle poignant echo; between dear young Miss Leni; in Marguerite's recent book; The Leaving.-And that dear fledgling crow; in her small slender book; Fledgling Season. Though dear Miss Leni perhaps; had a more difficult row to hoe!-She was brave; she was brave.

Followed by The Labyrinth; of course!
It took a strong girl; to make it through.

Here; a gentle book list then:

Fledgling Season
The Leaving
The Labyrinth

3. Regarding
That Dear Leni-Girl.
Here is the start of a lovely collection on that! First; with Marguerite's dear small poignant novella; The Leaving.-That beautifully shares the wonderful quirky nature; of an immigrant upbringing. Which she will always treasure

To be followed by her brave journey through college; albeit in abject poverty! Which she is proud to have survived! And which she will rightfully call; The Labyrinth. From which she also weaves her earnest; diligent; insightful thesis on war. In her beautiful book; Eventide.πŸŽ‹

HERE is her lovely
growing collection then:

The Leaving
The Labyrinth;
and Eventide.

Spinally Speaking...
Besides which to say;
that Marguerite has a very
strong one!πŸŽ‹

BUT PLEASE NOTE; that her important book; The Honor Code; does have a spine text. But she has decided not to use that with other books.-As often; her spines are simply too slender to place a text optimally! Or other times; it would glaringly interfere; with the sweet simple design; of her beautiful original cover fotographs.-Which consideration would be mainly of significance perhaps; to libraries and bookstores. (Because they need spine text.)

But she is thinking of her work more as niche work; as art books; or small slender gift books.-Not as mass market work. And though she would welcome any sales; from bookstores or libraries; she is not offering wholesale prices on her books. For an independent author; it is simply too much trouble to! But if you are a library or bookstore; she thinks; you could affix your own small beautiful spine tags; very artfully somewhere!

The pleasure would be yours;
and the honor would be all hers!

Or; you could feature her books face forward on a rack somewhere! Or; you could buy several copies of each of her books; and store them in one of those nice magazine shelf boxes! (Though her books are surely not magazines.)

But they could be collected
quite nicely that way!

She thinks that perhaps every high school library and bookstore; and every community college library and bookstore; and every local library; should have such a box!-To host a beautiful growing collection of her work! A sort of party box; almost!πŸŽ‹

MARGUERITE ALSO intends her sales simply for the individual; and the  collectibles and gift market. Because her dear small books are holdable; touchable; readable; treasurable; approachable.-And sharable!

And also regarding gifts; she thinks it is nice; to get a gift sometimes; that is not a gadget; for some daily practical purpose. But sheerly for the enrichment and enjoyment of life! Like a pair of delicious colorful woolly socks perhaps!

Which you could wear while you read her books!-Well. It grows very cold; where Marguerite lives.-A good holiday! From one longtime and hardworking author; and former proud dutch girl; marguerite.

HERE IS an image of the Virgen Guadalupe; that Marguerite took from her older brother's baseball cap one day. (Her family used to live in the Southland. Which she still remembers as heaven.) She will invoke this image to keep a watch over her country now; for the duration. Especially; over vulnerable immigrants. Who are being viciously and unfairly targeted. She waits and watches for strong new leaders; and better days.

Let's have those soon; okay?
Better days; right? Better days.

and her bloemworks.
